In a grand event held in Jakarta, the Daikin Designer Award 2022 declared the winners of its annual competition, recognizing outstanding residential designs that prioritize quality air circulation and aesthetic elements. Out of 300 entries received since the competition’s commencement on May 14, the jury selected ten winners across three main categories.

Ching Khim Huat, President Director of PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia, expressed his delight at the high participation in this specialized competition. He emphasized the success of Daikin’s efforts to advocate for the importance of quality air circulation in modern homes, complemented by a focus on aesthetic aspects.

The theme of Daikin Designer Award 2022, “Technology for Your Imagination,” encapsulated the competition’s spirit, encouraging innovative solutions for quality air circulation while maintaining a commitment to aesthetics. The event featured categories for completed housing projects as well as conceptual designs.

The esteemed panel of judges for DDA 2022 included Budi Pradono (IAI), Alex Bayusaputro (HDII Jakarta), Andry Mulyono (Magran Group), Hiroaki Niikura (representative from Daikin Japan), Wenky Handono (representative from Daikin Indonesia), and Kimberly Ryder as a guest judge and Daikin user.

Cowema Studio emerged as the overall winner in the applied category for completed homes, securing the top spot with its design for the GA House. The two-story residence exudes a blend of classic modern style with a strong architectural touch reminiscent of colonial aesthetics, emphasizing natural lighting.

With eight years of experience, Cowema Studio strategically implemented the Daikin Super Multi NX AC system. The design involved four outdoor units connected to five indoor Ceiling Mounted Duct units with grills and four indoor wall-mounted units. This comprehensive air circulation system ensured comfort for the house’s occupants.

Ching Khim Huat further elaborated on the significance of Daikin Designer Award as an annual agenda for PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia. The competition aims to promote air conditioning designs that consider air quality in homes while also emphasizing aesthetic factors. The utilization of Daikin’s AC Home Central solution, a centralized air conditioning technology, plays a crucial role in achieving this balance.

In addition to appreciating completed projects, Daikin Designer Award 2022 also acknowledged conceptual design efforts, reinforcing Daikin’s commitment to supporting residences with quality air circulation that prioritizes aesthetics.
